Abt Associates has recently welcomed Jeff Stovall as their new Chief Information Officer. In a company press release, Abt's Chief Financial Officer, Leonard Hicks, expressed excitement about Stovall's addition to the leadership team. Stovall's extensive knowledge and experience in information technology will help Abt Associates achieve their mission of improving people's lives while also increasing efficiency and automation in the company's IT infrastructure.
Abt Associates is a global consulting and research firm known for its innovative and data-driven approach to social impact. They work with clients and communities to advance equity and create scalable digital solutions, mitigate climate change, and combat infectious diseases.
Stovall will be responsible for developing and executing Abt's IT and cybersecurity strategies, overseeing enterprise platforms, internal digital initiatives, IT vendor partnerships, and delivery service excellence. With over two decades of experience in various sectors, including state and local government, telecom, manufacturing, professional services, and startups, Stovall's expertise in strategic planning and program management will contribute to Abt's strategic growth and mission delivery.
Stovall has a track record of success in leading digital transformations and expanding sales using enterprise technology solutions. Before joining Abt, he was an industry executive director at Oracle Corporation, where he focused on cloud enablement in state and local governments.
Prior to that, he was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Preferred Medical Marketing Corporation, a healthcare software-as-a-service company. He was also the City of Charlotte's CIO for a decade and ran post-merger systems integration activities at Sprint Nextel.
Stovall's accomplishments have been recognized by various awards, including Executive Member of the Year by the IT Senior Management Forum in 2022 and Top 25 "Doers, Dreamers & Drivers" by Government Technology Magazine in 2018.
The same year, the Global Leadership Forum (GLF), a coalition of organizations whose collective missions will increase the number of technologists in the pipeline, announced their list of GLF Superstars in US Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine.
Stovall holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Senior Executive Institute certification from the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia.
