The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) has announced that UDC Community College was selected as a sub-awardee participant on a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a curriculum at the 2-year degree level in quantum information systems.
According to UDC, quantum information systems (QIS) is one of the industries of tomorrow and a priority for the Biden Administration.
The UDC effort is led by Dr. Marilyn Hamilton, an instructor and technology coordinator in the college's education department.
QIS skills are growing in demand by employers, and this NSF-funded effort will help UDC create a diverse science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workforce.
