North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University opened the Merck Biotechnology Learning Center at Gateway Research Park in April.
The new center will support student enrichment and workforce development. Students and Merck trainees will experience hands-on learning and advanced discovery opportunities at the 4,025 sq. ft. classroom space and process lab with state-of-the-art biopharma manufacturing equipment.
The university's College of Engineering is the No. 1 producer of African American graduates in engineering in the United States.
Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. presided over his final commencement on May 10, where more than 1,500 undergraduate, 200 master's, and almost 60 doctoral students became members of the spring Class of 2024.
Graduates were reminded to embrace the challenges ahead with courage and confidence, knowing that they are equipped for an incredibly bright future.
Stephanie G. Adams '88, Ph.D., served as the keynote speaker for the graduate student ceremony, encouraging graduates to use their A&T degrees to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
