Howard University has been named the #1 black college and university (HBCU) by Best Values School dot org.
“We are honored that Best Value Schools has considered us as the number one HBCU to attend this year,” President Wayne Frederick, said in a statement.
“Howard University is a special place where the world’s brightest students achieve success while working alongside some of the most talented and dedicated faculty in higher education," he said.
"The training that Howard provides is excellent value thanks to our overall strategy to keep tuition costs low, while challenging our students to meet the demands of the high-level academic rigor.
According to Best Value Schools dot org criteria, they research thousands of colleges and universities to find the very best schools that meet the needs of prospective students on tuition, programs, student experience, distance-learning, online schooling and how to obtain financial aid.
Howard University is is home to 13 schools and colleges offering undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional degrees in a number of disciplines. The university produces more on-campus African American Ph.D.’s than any other university in the world.
Since 1998 the university has produced two Rhodes Scholars, two Truman Scholars, 24 Fulbright Scholars, 20 Pickering Fellows, six Luard Scholars and 13 Presidential Scholars.
The College of Engineering and Architecture is home to five departments offering accredited undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. The departments are architecture, chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, and mechanical engineering.
